Michael Jackson fans got a peek at what’s to come with the release of a new song from the late King of Pop’s archives. “Love Never Felt So Good,” a 1983 song that is the first single from the upcoming posthumous Michael Jackson album Xscape, was released May 1 and is generating quite the buzz online. Featuring pop superstar Justin Timberlake, the track echoes classic Jackson.
According to a press release from Epic Records, Jackson wrote, recorded and produced the track alongside Grammy winner Paul Anka in 1983 and is described as having “a magic combination of the new and the original production that retains the track’s analog, early ’80s feel, while also sounding right at home with the disco-soul inflected music of today,” the label said.
The track made its premiere during the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday, May 1. It is currently on sale via iTunes. Xscape is set to be released on May 13.
