Porsha Williams became the center of tabloid attention last week when she alleged that her ex-husband, Kordell Stewart, both mentally and physically abused her. Since then, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star has gotten both praise and criticism from fans, while Stewart has flat out denied Williams’ claims. And although some have questioned why Williams waited so long to discuss the abuse, in a recent interview on “Watch What Happens Live,” Williams explains just why she thought it was finally time to let the cat out of the bag.
While talking to host Andy Cohen about the abuse claims, Williams explained that she brought up Stewart’s abuse because she was asked about it while promoting her new video.
“That came up because I have a new single called “Flatline” online. And in the new video for “Flatline” it depicts some abuse in the video with me and the guy who’s in it. And I was asked did that happen in my relationship with Kordell, and it did,” Williams said.
Williams also explained that she heard about Stewart denying her claims, but she explains that she made the revelation without any concern for how Stewart would react.
“Me doing that and showing what happened to me and showing my truth, it’s not for me to get a comment from Kordell. It’s a way that I artistically decided to put my feelings out there,” Williams explained.
But that’s not all that Williams talks about. She also discusses the backlash she received after implying that Stewart is gay. Read what she had to say after the cut. – nicholas robinson
