The highly anticipated 2014 XXL Freshman cover has finally hit the internet, and while many of our favorite celebrities and industry tastemakers took to Instagram to celebrate their favorite artists, Twitter was a little less pleased. While every coast and major hip-hop city is represented, and most if not all of these names have been ringing bells throughout the past year, there were plenty of hip-hop artists that were in the running. Though females were totally left off the list, R&B’s new talent August Alsina and Ty Dolla Sign joined the list of rappers who caught XXL‘s attention.
