Longtime Hot 97 deejay personality Mister Cee made headlines in recent years following arrests for soliciting male prostitutes. In the wake of the arrests and the scrutiny that followed, Cee, who played pivotal roles in the careers of hip-hop legends like Big Daddy Kane and The Notorious B.I.G., was supported by his Hot 97 colleagues and others in hip-hop after he spoke openly last year about his behavior and indicated that he has a preference for men, while not actually declaring himself openly gay.

During a recent interview, former Biggie associate Lil Cease was asked about Mister Cee’s sexuality and whether or not the late Brooklyn rapper would’ve been accepting of Cee had he known of his sexual preferences.

Cease stated that Biggie wouldn’t look at Cee any differently.

“Definitely. Your friends [are] your friends,” Lil’ Cease told Vlad TV. “You know what I’m saying? You got somebody you’re cool with they gonna tell you what they think the right thing to do is. I think just on the strength of their friendship Big would have supported whatever he was doing. Cause Big knows he was a major part in helping him get to where he was going in his career.”

Cease went on to state that he and The Mafia Dons (formerly Junior M.A.F.I.A.) are still friends with Cee and have no issue with his sexual identity.

“Mister Cee [is] my homie, man. You know, that’s the home team, man,” Cease added. “Whatever his preference is, is his. I’m glad he came out; got it off his shoulders. That’s the best way to do it, man. Put it out there. Be one hundred with it. People will accept you as you are. You know what I’m saying? At the end of the day, I ain’t got no problem with [it] … That’s that man’s decision. That’s what he do. I salute him, man. He’s still my peoples.”
