Grammy award-winning artist and producer The-Dream has a nightmare on his hands.

The-Dream, born Terius Nash, was arrested over the weekend after turning himself in to authoritie. He was charged with beating his then-girlfriend, Lydia Nam. Nam says The-Dream kicked, punched and choked her in a fit of rage while she was pregnant with his child.

Things get iffy from there.

Nam claims the incident happened in April of 2013, yet she did not file charges until November 2013. She says she waited seven months because she feared her life would be in danger. The-Dream has proclaimed his innocence and says Nam waited so long because she did not want to be deported to Canada as victims of crimes can remain in America in order to testify.

On Friday, TMZ released pictures taken by Nam of herself in the aftermath of the alleged beating showing cuts and bruises to her neck, face, arms and legs. In one photo, Nam included a newspaper with the date of the purported incident.

The Dream was charged with assault, child endangerment, reckless endangerment, harassment and strangulation before being released on $20,000 bail.
