A husband and wife in St. Louis stopped a pair of armed robbers who attempted a home invasion on June 9. According to St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Terrell Johnson, 31, and Cortez McClinton, 33, approached a 17-year-old girl while she was getting items from a car around 11 p.m.
The men grabbed the teenager and held a gun to her head. They entered the girl’s home and used her as a hostage while her parents and a 5-year-old boy were inside. The teen’s father and mother, both 34, saw the men and grabbed their guns.
The husband and wife began firing shots at the armed robbers. The teen’s father shot and killed Johnson. He also shot McClinton in the chest and thighs. Johnson died at the scene and McClinton fled on foot.
McClinton was able to get a ride to a local hospital were he was treated and arrested. Johnson and McClinton both have a history of committing crime. McClinton was charged with murder in 2010, but witnesses would not cooperate with police.
