The annual showcase of emerging new talent in the music industry, Hustlepalooza, is back for the second time this year — but you won’t find any rappers here; the showcase will feature new R&B talent.

Performances will be provided by Harold Green, Jack Freeman, Krystal Metcalfe, Brill, and NFL wide receiver Nathan “Napalm” Palmer — this will be his first show in Chicago.

The event, soul show edition, takes place on Saturday, July 19 at Riff Lounge (2239 South Michigan Ave.). Door are expected to open by 7 p.m.

Established by music industry businessman Hustle Simmons in 2005, Hustlepalooza has quickly become one of the nation’s largest, most anticipated hip-hop showcases, committed to bridging the gap between today’s most talented new and mainstream artists by providing the stage that intimately connects them with the fans of their genre.

Known across the country for bringing forth new hip-hop talent, a strictly R&B showcase will be the first of its kind. These events deliver and brand hip-hop’s freshest acts in major music festivals such as SXSW as well as in cities across the nation like Chicago, New York City, Austin, Texas, and Washington, D.C. Among the group of Hustlepalooza alumni are favorite artists like Mos Def, The Cool Kids, Wale, Freddie Gibbs, Stalley, Lil B, Iggy Azalea and Dom Kennedy.

After the showcase, guests are invited to mix and mingle with culture and style connectors, Urban Fetes immediately after. It’s sure to be a talent-filled evening!
