Another protective hair trend right now is Senegalese twists. What are Senegalese twists? They are an advanced form of cornrows that add a “twist” to the regular cornrow braid. The Senegalese version of the braid uses a doubling up technique to create tight cornrows that have some extra coil at the bottom of each twisted strand.
The process can take up to 6-8 hours and will last for up to 8 weeks but should not be worn for longer than 10 weeks because your natural hair could loc up. Check out a few of the cutest ways to wear Senegalese twists in the gallery. –joi pearson @joiapearson
