Anthony Hamilton introduces his new artist, ED D Kane

Anthony Hamilton signs long time friend ED D Kane

Last night, July 25, Mali Hunter of Tree Sound Studios hosted an intimate, private dinner with guest appearances by the sultry Anthony Hamilton and the first artist off of his Mister’s Music label, long time friend ED D Kane.

The event, sponsored by Corona and a variety of flavorful Cholula hot sauces included a quick Q&A where Hamilton was able to touch briefly on his budding relationship with ED D Kane.

“We met in barber school.” Hamilton laughed as he gushed about their history. “We paid that $1500 and felt good about ourselves. We lost touch for some time but it’s funny how everything comes full circle,” he continued.

Kane, who states that “life, living and his journey” including a short stint in jail has heavily influenced his music, hails from the largest city in Western North Carolina, Asheville. Accompanied by a live band, Kane’s sound is reminiscent of old school hip-hop with a fresh, relevant feel.

In July 2013, the two shot a collaboration video for their single “Da Streets,” prominently featuring Hamilton’s sensual voice and has since been compared to Hamilton’s 2004 collaboration with Jadakiss on “Why.”

Hamilton and Kane are currently in the studio working on their next big project. Stay tuned! – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
