On Friday, July 25, 2014 a charity screening was held at Regal Atlantic Station, benefiting The James Brown Family Foundation. Get On Up is based on the incredible life story of the Godfather of Soul, James Brown; the film gives a fearless look inside the music, moves and moods of Brown, taking audiences on the journey from his impoverished childhood to his evolution into one of the most influential figures of the 20th century.

Academy Award-winning actress Octavia Spencer (The Help), Chadwick Boseman (42) and director Tate Taylor (The Help), Jasmine Guy, Jennifer Holliday, Egypt Sherrod, and the Godfather of Soul’s daughters Yamma Brown and Deanna Brown were in attendance.
