The nation suffered a major tragedy this past weekend when an unarmed Ferguson, Missouri, teenager, Michael “Mike” Brown, was gunned down by a police officer. The 18-year-old was supposed to begin his first day of college today but, tragically, his life was cut short in yet another example of senseless violence on behalf of police.
Not only did residents of the working-class St. Louis suburb protest against the city’s police, but many political figures and hip-hop celebrities also weighed in on the matter on social media.
