Suge Knight, the menacing former head of Death Row Records was reportedly shot multiple times while at a pre-VMA party held at the popular club 1Oak late last night in Los Angeles.
Details are still a bit sketchy, but we do know Knight was one of three people hit as gunfire broke out inside the club around 1:30 a.m. PST. Though none of the injuries were fatal, one person is in critical condition at an area hospital. Knight reportedly walked out of the club on his own recognizance after being shot in the stomach and arm and was led to an ambulance by police on the scene. Petrified clubgoers were ordered to exit the venue with their hands in the air by authorities who had their guns drawn.
Hosted by Chris Brown, also in attendance at the party were Tyson Beckford, Robert Ri’chard, and apl de. ap of the Black Eyed Peas. Brown had made mention of the party earlier in the evening on his Instagram with the caption “We bout to turn the [f—] up!!!!”, but early on Sunday morning he took to Twitter to vent about the shooting stating “It’s disappointing that we as a society can’t have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bulls—!!!”
According to family sources, Suge had successful surgery and is resting in the ICU but is expected to make a full recover. The current condition of the other shooting victims is not presently known.
Police have not announced having suspects or any arrests at this time.
