Drake’s upcoming album Views From the 6 is expected to drop in early September, but a rough version of the title track was unofficially leaked earlier this weekend — and it’s getting lots of attention. “Views from the 6” has not been confirmed at all by Drizzy, but the song did make it’s way online with a guest appearance from Arizona’s E Batt. But what has tongues wagging is a verse that sounds like Drake may be taking some shots at his former friend with benefits, Rihanna.
“You must remember wakin’ up in Paris with the blunt / You must remember f——’ me like anytime you want,” Drake rhymes. “What made us wanna act like we were married for two weeks? / Now we back in California, we don’t even speak / That’s a no-no.”
For those keeping score, Drake and Rihanna were booed up in France earlier this year.
“Everyone said we look good on paper,” Drake adds. “You deserve that action / Plus you get more paper than I do, that s— attractive / Things that make me miss you, with Jen and Melissa.” There’s a sample of Rihanna’s voice when Drake mentions “Melissa.”
Drake’s heart remains firmly attached to his sleeve, but it’s curious to see if RiRi responds. She’s known for airing out exes and rivals, so Drake may get a scathing response or deafening silence. This all comes after Drake flashed Rihanna’s face onscreen during his performance at OVO Fest last month. Drizzy explained the gesture as “all love.”
