Looking for something to do this Labor Day Weekend? Wolf Creek Amphitheater will host the Funk Party Saturday, Aug. 30. The charming Morris Day will light up the stage with songs “The Bird,” “The Oak Tree,” and Jungle Love.”
Popular Atlanta Bands, The SOS Band and Brick will also bring their sounds to the stage. The very funky SOS Band, known for songs “Take Your Time,” “Just Be Good to Me,” and “The Finest” will surely have the audience grooving. And the band that merges funk and jazz, Brick, will perform its hits “Dazz,” “We Don’t Wanna’ Sit Down (We Wanna’ Get Down), and ”Ain’t Gonna Hurt Nobody.”
Midnight Star, a group that was inducted into the Soul Music Hall of Fame in 2013 will also be in rocking the stage with their songs “Freak-a-Zoid,” “Wet My Whistle,” and “Midas Touch.”
All of these groups brought us many hits throughout the years and are still going strong. This is what “real music” is about.
The Funk Party will be hosted by comedian and actor “Double D,” who made his debut on BET’s Comic View in 2000 and opened up for John Witherspoon, Mark Curry, Don DC Curry, Sommore, Katt Williams, and Mike Epps to name a few.
