Prior to Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in the MLB in 1946 and before Rosa Parks took a stand on the back of the bus and before the Little Rock Nine, Marion Motley, Wood Strode, Kenny Washington, and Bill Willis were all signed to the NFL in 1946. These four African American football players whose stories are untold, broke major racial barriers under the radar.

Two of the four men, Motley and Willis, have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, while their counterparts, UCLA alumni Kenny Washington and Woody Strode have yet to be recognized.

Tonight, Sept. 23, the inspirational documentary “The Forgotten Four,” sheds light on these four athletes and unsung heroes of the civil rights movement who, along with Willis and Motley, paved the way for future generations of NFL players and African American athletes alike, to follow their dreams.

Be a part of the historic movement tonight by tuning into the “The Forgotten Four,” at 8 p.m. EST on EPIX. – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
