Did the Neelys fake their love on TV?

Beloved Food Network couple Pat and Gina Neely gave fans a crushing surprise last week when they revealed that they were divorcing after 20 years of marriage. Although the couple claimed that it was a tough decision, a claim has been made that the couple has allegedly hated each other for years.

According to TMZ, the Neelys’ marriage was troubled even before they landed their hit Food Network show “Down Home With the Neelys” in 2008. The couple never thought their show would take off, but they allegedly struggled the entire time to pretend their marriage was fine.

Sources say both of them accused each other of being fame hungry and now that they’re divorcing, they both plan to strike out on their own. However, Pat allegedly thinks that Gina will fail without him because he owns all of their famous recipes and he’s the master chef of their franchise.

But Gina thinks otherwise, with sources saying she believes she’ll thrive without him because she has the bigger TV personality.

Earlier this week, Wendy Williams mentioned on her talk show that producers had been trying to book the couple for years but were told over the past two years that they had to be booked separately.

In any case, both of them will still have a joint cash cow thanks to their NYC BBQ restaurant, which they reportedly have no plans of selling.

We hope that their split isn’t as bitter as the rumors claim, but considering how shocking news of their divorce was, who knows what’s been going on behind the scenes. –nicholas robinson
