Miami Dolphins defensive end Derrick Shelby, 25, was arrested for allegedly trespassing and resisting arrest without violence following a disturbance at Cyn Nightclub (Off the Hookah) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Saturday at 2 a.m.
“We are aware of the reports regarding Derrick Shelby and are in the process of gathering more information,” the team said in a written statement.
In his booking mugshot, Shelby’s lips and face are covered in blood — his left eye and lips badly swollen. His attorney Danny Rosenberg claims it came from arresting officers.
