The current Ebola scare has Western media and citizens panicked and many are vowing to stay out of Africa, in general. The deadly virus has been ravaging Liberia and Sierra Leone in particular, but many are once again stigmatizing the entire continent and demanding that the government consider travel bans. But rapper T.I. proudly posted on social media that he was in Ethiopia, making sure to do his part to diffuse some of the current anti-Africa sentiment in America and Europe.

“Just touched dwn in #Ethiopia Headed to #Tanzania #DaBoysDoneMadeItToAfrica #HustleGangInternational,” Tip captioned on Instagram, along with images of his trip which included a visit to an Ebola Checking Center.

Tip was scheduled to perform in Tanzania, which hasn’t had any Ebola cases. He took the stage last night at the Serengeti Fiesta. Most Ebola cases have occurred in West Africa, while Tanzania is far east.

The fear of the virus has reached a fever pitch in the United States, after a Liberian man died in a Texas hospital after having contracted the disease and it was discovered that two nurses were also infected after having been in contact with him.
