‘Drag Race’ stars make groundbreaking Starbucks commercial

Bianca Del Rio & Adore Delano - Starbucks Cover

Every year, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” gets bigger in the mainstream world and produces more stars than the year before. And now two of Ru’s “Drag Race” alums have proved just how big their star power can be by starring in a new LGBT-themed Starbucks commercial.

Yesterday, Starbucks released a new commercial starring recent ‘Drag Race” stars Bianca Del Rio and Adore Delano, the first ever LGBT-themed commercial for the coffee giant.

The commercial, which was done in partnership with OutTV and filmed in Canada, is titled “Coffee Frenemies” and stars Adore as a drag queen in a hurry to get a skinny latte to get her through a long list of performances for the day. But as Adore politely cuts to the front of the line, she comes across razor-tongued Bianca, who sternly refuses to allow Adore to cut in front of her to get her latte.

It’s great to see a new crop of queens making major moves in the world of entertainment, and we’re sure mama Ru is proud to see her girls making good on the promise of becoming the next big drag superstars. – nicholas robinson
