Katt Williams says things are not always what they seem.
News spread quickly earlier this week that Williams and close friend Suge Knight were arrested and charged with robbery as a result of stealing a camera from a celebrity photographer back in September.
Having since been released, TMZ caught up with Williams and the pint-sized comedian says the situation came about because they caught the photographer taking footage of Knight’s young daughter without permission.
“I knew that she was engaged inappropriately with a child,” Williams said. “Not with any adult. We’re talking about a 5-year-old. She wasn’t doing no photographs. She was recording. Her story is clearly, she got in an altercation with me, but she didn’t.”
The female photographer alleges that Williams and Knight chased her down and tried to forcibly take her camera. Williams says that when the photographer was busted taking video, she told them she would delete it, but then ran, at which point Williams and Knight gave chase, but never confiscated her camera.
Both Williams and Knight have previous convictions and could be sentenced up to seven years and 30 years, respectively, if convicted.
