A police officer went to jail and lost his job over a $10 DVD. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Ernesto McCloud went to the Mystic convenience store in Polk County, Florida, to investigate a burglary at the store.

While in the store, McCloud grabbed a DVD and placed it inside of his pants. The theft was captured on security cameras and the store owners notified police.

Police arrested McCloud who had been a deputy sheriff for three years. When McCloud was questioned by police on why he took the DVD, he told them that he took the DVD because he had not seen the movie.

McCloud was charged with petty theft and armed robbery because he carried his service weapon inside the store.

McCloud was also forced to resign from his position as sheriff deputy. Police have yet to release the name of the movie stolen by McCloud.
