Ginuwine and Timbaland overcome differences; begin work on new album

Ginuwine

Looks like fans of that classic late 90’s Ginuwine sound have something to look forward to.

In a recent Instagram post the “Differences” singer dropped the bombshell that he is back in the studio with hit-making producer Timbaland and fans can expect a new album from the two called Same Ol G sometime in 2015.

Timbaland did the majority of production on Ginuwine’s first two albums, both multi-platinum efforts, before the two fell out resulting in just one Timbo produced song on G’s third album The Life, and no collaborations on subsequent albums. Ginuwine told Vibe magazine in 2010 that after a while he had a hard time getting Tim in the studio to work:

Me and Tim were real close at one point. A lot of the times that I reached out, there were a bunch of excuses. I begged and pleaded with him because I felt a certain way but I was like, is it just a bad vibe that I’m picking up on? Maybe I’m bugging out, I don’t know. But it came out to be true and I still feel like he owes me an apology for that.

It appears that time does indeed heal all wounds as G was singing a different tune during a recent  interview with Billboard magazine about the 15th anniversary of his sophomore album 100% Ginuwine.

“For him to take on that whole project … it was just remarkable for me to be a part of that,” Ginuwine said. “I was always excited to work with him because we were on the same page.”

No definitive release date has been given for Same Ol G just yet.
