Black gay dads make history with new Nikon campaign

Last year, Kordale and Kaleb set the Internet ablaze when photos of the fathers raising their three kids flooded the Web and drew a firestorm of both criticism and praise. Since then, Kordale and Kaleb have remained stars in the gay community, but now they’re back in the mainstream spotlight in a major way as the stars of Nikon’s groundbreaking new campaign.

Nikon’s new “I Am Generation Image” campaign features Kordale, Kaleb and their everyday life with their family in Atlanta and sheds light on the normalcy of life for them.

“More than any before, this generation speaks through its images. So we sent a Nikon camera on a journey to help seven people, with something to say, make their mark. See what they said with their images. Then make a statement of your own,” says Nikon about their campaign.

“Last year, we were surprised when a picture of us doing our daughters’ hair went viral. To us, that’s just part of our morning routine. With our images, we want to share our family’s life — and maybe reveal how much our family is like yours,” Kordale and Kaleb said.

Kordale and Kaleb also spoke with the Huffington Post about their campaign. See what they had to say after the cut.
