Last year, it seemed like NeNe Leakes’ son, Bryson Bryant, had turned his life around and cleaned up his act after a string of arrests and criminal charges. But now it appears Leakes’ son has secretly been in and out of jail and rehab over the past year.
According to RadarOnline, court documents reveal that Bryant crashed and totaled his silver Dodge Charger when he ran into and broke two utility poles and flipped his car upside down before it landed in a ditch.
When police arrived on the scene, Bryant claimed that “darkness caused him to wreck.” However, the arresting officer claimed that he could “smell the odor of alcoholic beverages resonating” from Bryant.
Bryant claimed that he only had “one beer,” but the police report explains that his “slow and deliberate response” to questions seemed to indicate otherwise. When Bryant was taken to the hospital, he tested positive for a blood alcohol level of .048, which is below the legal limit of .08. However, Bryant was still charged with a DUI.
Later that year in December, a Johns Creek, Georgia, judge found Bryant guilty of reckless driving and he was sentenced to a year of probation and 30 days of house arrest in February 2014.
Unfortunately, Bryant failed to abide by his sentence and he ended up violating his probation in numerous ways. Not only did he not visit his probation officer four times in 2014, but he also tested positive for cocaine, refused to pay fines of more than $1,200, and skipped mandatory DUI school.
Not surprisingly, Bryant was arrested and sent to jail for three months in September 2014 and wasn’t released until two days before Thanksgiving. But his time in the system didn’t end there. According to court documents, Bryant was also ordered to spend a minimum of six weeks in an “intensive” residential rehab.
Well, we hope that Bryant has finally learned his lesson, especially since he has a young daughter that needs him at home.
