Blacks dolls matter: Meet 4 Black doll designers

Trying to find a Black doll created by a Black person can be a daunting task. Most people who create Black dolls are dedicated artists and often their creations are suitable for display but not as toys young girls. Finding a Black doll that can be mass produced is something that these artists dream of on a daily basis.

But there are a few pioneering Black doll makers who have found success. Here are four Black doll designers.
