Zendaya recently blasted Giuliana Rancic for racist comments about her faux locs at the Oscars. While hosting E!’s “Fashion Police” during the Oscars, Rancic said Zendaya’s locs made her look as if, “she smells like patchouli oil and weed.”
Zendaya’s look was inspired by Lisa Bonet’s character, Denise Huxtable, from “The Cosby Show.”
Kelly Osborne took to Twitter to say that she was considering leaving the show over the racist comment, and other celebs commended Zendaya for standing up.
Rancic responded by making a public apology on E!. In a statement, Rancic said, “This really has been a learning experience for me. This incident has taught me to be a lot more aware of cliches and stereotypes, how much damage they can do and that I am responsible, as we all are, to not perpetuate them further.”
