Moody’s, a multibillion dollar credit rating agency, analytics firm and provider of financial analysis software and services, recently hosted Dr. John Silvanus Wilson, the 11th president of Morehouse College, and the NYC Morehouse alumni chapter in the World Trade Center.

Moody’s is a major contributor and supporter of Morehouse College and has made a major commitment to find the best talent at Morehouse. Both Almeida and Love gave wonderful speeches on their experience at Moody’s and their hopes to continue supporting Morehouse College in the years to come. President Wilson also addressed the NYC alumni on where Morehouse is heading in the coming years. His presentation titled, “The World of Our Dreams,” delivered three points to the NYC alumni: pay attention to Morehouse; be a solid Morehouse Man privately, publicly and professionally; and to give back to the college.

Since his tenure at Morehouse College, Wilson has shaken things up at the college for the betterment of the Morehouse brand. While dismissing over 100 of the administrative staff at the college as a way to trim the fat, Wilson went on to boast impressive numbers such as fundraising being up 50 percent and revenue up 11 percent. Morehouse is also recruiting in 40 states (previously 10 states) and is going after prospective young males in 900 high schools (previously 100 high schools).  The president also shared his dream for an ambitious and expensive upgrade to the physical infrastructure of the campus… and it looks amazing.

With Dr. Wilson in charge, we can only hope for more great accomplishments from Morehouse College.
