How a couple’s fight over a $500 lottery ticket led to a murder-suicide

A spat over $500 led to a murder suicide in Fort Worth, Texas. According to reports by The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Terry Martin, 48, bought a lottery scratch-off ticket and won $500.

When his live-in girlfriend, Laurice Hampton, discovered that he’d won the money, she insisted that he give her half of the winnings. Martin refused and the two began arguing. At some point, the argument turned violent.

Martin pulled out his gun and shot Hampton in her chest. Martin then turned the gun on himself. Hampton was still alive and able to call 911. She was rushed to the hospital, but she eventually died.

Martin and Hampton had known each other since they were in kids. However, they always had a volatile relationship.

In 2011, Martin was arrested and served one day in jail for assaulting Hampton.

some couples dont know when to pull the pliug, there comes a time when you just hang it up and move around , she knew this man was nutty and she probably knew he had a gun , some women think that cause they fight back its equal and they dont get the police involved it he had beat her and not shot her she would gladly have stayed with this fool , he look normal but that head of his was blazin crazy . women need to know the warning sign , he rather killed his self than face prison, society sure want miss him . . rip
