When speaking to an accomplished actress, singer and dancer like the Geneva, Switzerland-born Kat Graham, it’s really a breath of fresh air to encounter a woman in the industry who can articulate with style and grace. Being such a fan of “Vampire Diaries” character Bonnie because of Graham; when we first met approximately three years ago, she was very impressed I knew she speaks five languages (Spanish, French, Portuguese, Hebrew and English); she’s an original Fanta girl (remember the Fanta commercial?), and her godfather is Quincy Jones.

Graham expressed her concerns about watching women fight each other on TV. And although watching reality TV fights is one of my guilty pleasures; somehow after listening to her discuss it, I was suddenly unamused and now disgusted by it. Thanks Kat! It’s always weird to go out of town to award shows and notice no reality TV stars gracing the red carpets of the NAACP Image awards, and now Black Girls Rock! Perhaps the television networks really possess the same sentiments as Graham when they are sending out their invites. Or maybe it was just a coincidence no reality TV stars were present at Black Girls Rock! Do you think they were intentionally left off the guest list? Truly these type of events prove there is a time and place for everything.
