A woman sitting on a chair on a beach in Panama City Beach, Florida, was gang raped in broad daylight. The rape was discovered on a cellphone confiscated to investigate a shooting incident that is unrelated to the sexual battery. Troy University (Alabama) students Delonté Martistee, 22, a track and field champion; and Ryan Austin Calhoun, 23, have been arrested in connection with the alleged incident and charged with sexual battery by multiple perpetrators. According to Bay County Sheriff Frank McKeithen, one man in the video is heard saying “she isn’t going to know.”
Multiple men fondled the young woman’s genital area as she lay there unconscious, an act the sheriff described as the “most disgusting, sickening thing” and “wild animals preying on a carcass laying in the woods,” during a press conference on Friday, April 11.
The young lady didn’t report the incident because she couldn’t remember the details of the attack. She also believed she was drugged.
The incident occurred in March behind Spinnaker Beach Club located at 8795 Thomas Drive. “This is such a traumatizing event for this girl. No one should have to fear this would happen in Panama City Beach, but it does,” added the sheriff.
Overall, during this year’s spring break, law enforcement confiscated 49 handguns, marijuana, MDMA (Molly), heroine and cocaine.
More arrests in the gang rape are likely to come.
