Chicago’s Laugh Factory was the setting for an unforgettable night of comedy put together for a great cause as former All-Pro Chicago Bear Jerry Azumah and his Azumah Student Assistance Program Foundation held its fourth annual “Laugh Out Loud comedy fundraiser (#LOL4ASAP).
Hosted by radio personality and comedian Leon Rogers, the gut-busting evening of laughs featured a mix of veteran comedians such as B. Cole and Tony Sculfield, as well as up-and-coming talents such as Calvin Evans and Jesnaira Baez among others.
As great as the night turned out to be, ASAP Foundation executive director Micaeh Johnson says the purpose of the night is even greater.
“We absolutely love putting this evening of comedy together every year for a great cause,” Johnson says. “The support we get all around, from the comedians to our sponsors to the city in general, goes a long way toward our mission of helping deserving kids further their education. We look forward to continuing the work.”
Incorporated in 2004, the ASAP foundation helps to provide financial scholarship assistance to underserved students seeking private secondary education in the Chicagoland area, in addition to supporting targeted educational youth programs. Since its inception, ASAP has impacted the lives of hundreds of youth by rewarding multiple scholarships while providing various support to qualified youth programs annually.
