On Sunday, April 26, soap stars, talk shows and news programs battled it out for the golden statuettes at the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
Hosted by Tyra Banks, the star-studded ceremony aired on POP, featured a “Days of Our Lives” reunion, an emotional tribute to late comedian and host Joan Rivers and special tribute to everyone’s favorite Golden Girl, Betty White. Daytime legends Regis Philbin, Marie Osmond, Charo, Tom Bergeron and Fred Willard came together to honor the 93-year-old superstar.
“I can’t tell you what this means,” White told the crowd when discussing her career that started in 1949. “I had no idea that I would still be alive at this point for one thing, but I’d still be privileged enough to still be in this business.”
The show itself had some great acceptance speeches, some touching moments and even some surprise wins — including a tie in the biggest category of the night. For a complete list of 2015 Daytime Emmy Award winners, read on.
