Now that the epic Mayweather vs. Pacquio fight is all said and done, we can focus on what really matters — Cinco de Mayo. Tomorrow, cities across the nation will kick off a variety of Cinco De Mayo fiestas — where the May 5 date is much more of a celebration than it is in Mexico.
Although many believe Cinco de Mayo is the Mexican Independence Day, it actually commemorates the victory of outnumbered Mexican forces against French troops in the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Mexican-Americans view the date as a source of cultural pride, holding festivities across the U.S. that include traditional dance, music and arts.
To experience the best of both sides of the day, margarita-themed parties to a variety of traditional cultural events, hit the flip for the top Cinco de Mayo celebrations across the country.
