James Harden and the Houston Rockets have issues that extend beyond their playoff opponents, the Golden State Warriors. Harden was threatened with a curse by Bay Area rapper Lil B and proceeded to choke in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals.

Lil B was upset because Harden failed to give him credit for the “cooking dance.” Whenever Harden scores or makes a tremendous play, he swirls his hands as if he is cooking in an invisible pot. Lil B started the dance several years ago. However, Harden says that he’s mimicking Houston rapper Chedda Da Connect who does a similar dance in his video for “Flicka Da Wrist.”

Hours before Game 2, Lil B appeared on TMZ and said that he would place a curse on Harden if he didn’t credit him with the “cooking dance” by Game 3. Harden didn’t give Lil B credit and it appears as if the curse was in play.

With eight seconds remaining in the game and the Rockets trailing by 1 point, Harden fumbled the basketball as time expired.

Several years ago, Lil B placed a curse on Kevin Durant and the former NBA All-Star has struggled with injuries and the OKC Thunder failed to make this year’s playoffs.
