For several years now, the Smith’s have wrestled with rumors of an alleged open marriage. While Pinkett Smith has talked around the rumors on several occasions, she recently stopped by the Howard Stern show on Sirius XM radio, where she set the record straight … sort of.

When asked about a statement she made several years back, on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” where she stated that if Will wanted to go out with another woman then he could go ahead, “as long as he could look at himself in the mirror,” the former “Gotham” star took it upon herself to clarify further:

“Look I’m not here to be anybody’s watcher. I’m not his watcher. He’s a grown man. Here’s what I trust — the man that Will is, is a man of integrity. So he’s got all the freedom in the world. So as long as Will can look at himself in the mirror and be OK? I’m good.”

In other words, if her movie star husband is going to cheat, she’s not going to spend her time playing inspector gadget. Instead, she trusts her husband of 18 years and should he slip up, he’d have to live with the consequences.

The Smiths were married in 1997. They have three children, Willow, 14, Jaden, 16, and Trey, 22, Will’s son from a previous marriage.
