Remember Jay Williams, the Atlanta resident with 34 kids and 17 baby mamas that nabbed a reality show on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network? Well, the dream is over!
In a statement released by OWN this week, the network says that production has officially ended and they will not air the docu-series… at all.
“OWN has decided not to move forward with the Jay Williams docu-series. The series aimed to follow Jay as he worked to put his life and fractured relationships in order and to hold him accountable every step of the way. The intention was to help Jay work to establish new connections with his family, his children and the mothers of his children. Production has ended and the series will not air.”
Here’s why (allegedly): According to theGrio, sources close to production claim the docu-series wasn’t going in the direction the network had hoped.
In March, OWN announced that a show with a working title the “Untitled Jay Williams Project” would center around the father of 34 kids as he worked to put his life and relationships in order with spiritual life coach Iyanla Vanzant holding him accountable every step of the way.
Although the reason behind the cancellation is extremely vague, we hope that Williams will continue to move forward and heal these relationships as well as make new, healthy connections!
