And the new “Fashion Police” co-host is …

Melissa Rivers has signed on to join fan favorites Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski on Aug 31, as the series picks up again, just in time to discuss all things MTV Video Music Awards. Each week, the trio will be joined by two rotating celebrity guests, including comedians, stylists and actors.

“As an executive producer since the beginning, Melissa helped shape ‘Fashion Police’ into an iconic TV series that couples fashion with comedy,” Jeff Olde, executive vice president, programming and development for E! explained in a press release. “We are pleased to now also feature Melissa in front of the ‘Fashion Police’ cameras, as she joins returning panelists Giuliana and Brad. And with the added flavor of rotating panelists, the show will deliver fresh, different and unpredictable fashion reviews with each new episode.”

The daughter of the late Joan Rivers released a statement following the exciting casting news, “I’m very excited to be given the opportunity to continue to work with my E! and ‘Fashion Police’ family.”

The show, which has been on hiatus since Rivers’ initial replacement, Kathy Griffin, walked away after being fed up with the show’s insulting jokes, is currently scheduled to return for six episodes.

Prior to Griffin’s exit, Kelly Osbourne shocked fans when she exited after just five years. Although Osbourne didn’t directly comment on the rumored beef between she and Rancic, there was much speculation that her leave was due to co-host Rancic’s offensive comments about actress Zendaya’s dreadlocked hair at the Oscars. “I feel like she smells like patchouli oil,” Rancic said.

Osbourne tweeted, “I DID NOT MAKE THE WEED COMENT. I DO NOT CONDONE RACISM SO AS A RSULT OF THIS IM SEREIOULSY QUESTIONONIG STAYING ON THE SHOW!”

Nonetheless, the show must go on. And who better to fill Griffin’s shoes than Rivers’ daughter and the remaining executive producer, Melissa? Will you be watching?
