Just a few months ago, troubled actor Columbus Short announced some amazing moves being made in his career. He said he was working on a gospel-meets-“Empire” type of program for Bounce TV and he was apparently developing a talent show to air in Africa. Short may have put much of his hotheaded ways behind him, but his Tuesday arrest shows that his past continues to catch up with him.

The former “Scandal” star was reportedly getting ready to do a sound check for his album release party at a Universal Studios CityWalk club in Los Angeles when a group of bounty hunters approach him outside to arrest him. In a video obtained by TMZ, Short is arguing with the men and saying they were scaring him.

The citizen’s arrest on Short was reportedly due to an issue between the actor and his bail bondsman, TMZ reports. The gossip site said they also learned the bounty hunters will be paid a portion of his $500,000 bail and that they arrested Short because he was believed to have been preparing to leave the country.

Short had been arrested multiple times last year for several offenses, including a domestic violence incident involving estranged wife Tanee McCall and for felony battery after a bar fight.
