It’s been just under a year since actress Gabrielle Union and pro baller Dwyane Wade tied the knot. In fact, just eight days from now, the duo will be celebrating their one-year anniversary.
And it appears that it’s been nothing but love in paradise. “We’re BFFs… It’s just sort of awesome,” said Union of their marriage. “It’s all the same. It’s easy,” Wade added.
As for whether they have anything big planned for their anniversary, it looks like Wade is taking the lead as coordinator. “I’m taking her somewhere nice, somewhere neither of us have been,” the NBA star said earlier this week at Samsung’s launch of the Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note5. “And she will not find out until the plane gets up in the air. It’ll be pretty special.”
It’s so secretive, Wade has told Union not to pack for the trip. “It’s going to be hot,” he teased. How romantic! On Aug. 30, the two jumped the broom in Miami at the lavish Chateau Artisan estate at sunset. Union was a vision in a strapless Dennis Basso ballgown with a sweetheart neckline, while Wade opted for a Dsquared2 Tuxedo, a custom Wedding Collection Tie Bar bowtie and a Floral Fix boutonniere.
Although we don’t believe anything will top the day the couple said “I do,” we’re sure Wade has something magical planned for his leading lady. Congrats to Wade and Union on their first big milestone.
