Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat was selected to his 11th All-Star game, and although he will not be playing due to injury, the National Association Basketball star still fulfilled his media availability obligations yesterday for the NBA All-Star Game that will take place tomorrow at Madison Square Garden.
On the eve of Valentine’s Day, Wade was asked what present was he going to get for his actress wife, Gabrielle Union, and he had a humorous response. “Present? We just got married, we just bought a new house, I ain’t got no [sic] more money,” he said, as many listening laughed.
He then said he would simply give her “a kiss,” and when asked what he wanted, he responded and elaborated on how they usually spend Valentine’s Day. “I don’t want nothing. It’s not my thing. We are not big Valentine’s Day givers, we are more [about] nice flowers, nice appreciation. I might write her a note, something simple, not nothing [sic] that is going to cost a lot of money.”
Appearing in his 11th straight All-Star Game, Wade is usually busy around Valentine’s Day. “Luckily, we’ve been at All-Star every year for Valentine’s Day, so there really isn’t much we can do anyway,” he said.
