As previously reported, Las Vegas’ Madame Tussauds recently unveiled a wax figurine of rapper Nicki Minaj in honor of her smash hit “Anaconda.” And it was all a surprise for Minaj herself, who shared her excitement via Instagram. “YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WTF?!?!?!?!??!?? Had no idea they were really doing this. I would’ve went to Vegas for this. #HappyBirthdayAnaconda,” she captioned a video of the figure. “I love it and I can’t wait to see it,’ she added with a still shot of the wax figure. “Lol this looks like a human.Wtf. #HappyBirthdayAnaconda my Wax figure is now in VEGAS.”
Due to the instant popularity of the figure, Tussauds urged fans to swing by and snap a selfie with “Minaj” via Twitter:
And it was all downhill from there. Maybe it’s the doggy style pose or maybe there was just something in the air, but the jokesters definitely turned out…
Fans showed up not only to snap selfies with the Barbie, but several visitors defamed the wax character by licking, groping and even humping the statue. And it’s safe to say Madame Tussauds wasn’t feeling it. In fact, they beefed up security on the wax figure and issued the below statement.
