Kevin Gates could face jail time after being involved in an alleged assault that occurred at one of his recent concerts. According to reports by 10 News, police in Lakeland, Florida are looking to arrest Gates.
Cell phone video captured Gates performing at Rumors Night Club on Aug. 31. While on stage, a young woman can be seen grabbing Gates’ pants. Gates then kicked the young woman. Several days after the video went viral, the young woman who was kicked, Miranda Dixon, 18, stepped forward to share her experience.
During an interview with 10 News, Dixon said the kick to her chest left her dazed and gasping for air. She received medical treatment after show and notified authorities.
Gates will be charged with battery once he turns himself in to authorities. The Louisiana-raised rapper released a song regarding the incident on the song “The Truth.” On the song, Gates suggest that Dixon attempted to grab his genitals and he overreacted.
