Recently, Russell Wilson sat down with Pastor Miles McPherson of The Rock Church near San Diego, where he announced that he and Ciara have decided to abstain from sex.
“[Ciara] was on tour, and I was looking at her in the mirror, and God spoke to me,” Wilson recalled. “He said, ‘I need you to lead her.’ I told her, ‘What would you do if we took all that ‘extra stuff’ off the table, and just did it Jesus’ way?'”
Naturally, Black Twitter went in on the couple, criticizing their relationship. Even Cici’s ex-fiance, Future, poked fun at Wilson’s revelation, basically bragging that his God “never told him that.”
Now, Ciara has come forward saying she’s unbothered by the whole thing. “You know, when Russell talked about it, he was being honest. For what it’s worth I think there are so many people like us,” the singer told E! News. “We get to share real things. We’re real people.”
“I run into different people and they’ll talk to me about their journey and their relationships, so I think that’s been really cool and it’s a healthy thing,” she continued. “It’s a healthy conversation we all get to have as adults. I’m not sweating it at all.”
As for whether the couple has talked about marriage, Ciara added, “He’s the best guy in the world for me,” Ciara gushed. “He’s my best friend and I just put positive things in the universe. We want to continue having the best relationship and friendship we could have.”
