Memphis-based rapper iHeartMemphis has been charged in a gang rape case that is still developing.

Local station WREG reports that the rapper has been charged with aggravated rape along with another man after allegedly raping a woman while she was intoxicated and incapable of resisting.

IHeartMemphis is known for his infectious dance hit,”Hit The Quan” that has garnered over 15 million views on YouTube and gone viral with everyone from little kids to TV personalities joining in on the song and dance.

The rapper, born Richard Colbert, has vehemently denied any wrongdoing and told WREG that the matter is simply an instance of circumstance.

“No I did not rape that woman,” the rapper said. “I was at the wrong place, wrong time, and my name got caught up in something.”

Police are said to be seeking to speak with a third suspect, a woman between the ages of 18-23, who they believe participated in the alleged rape.

Colbert and the other suspect are set to appear in court on Wednesday, September 9.
