The new season of “Empire” is going to feature more guest stars than ever before and promises to be even more explosive than the show’s monstrous freshman season. And now it’s been revealed that one of the guest stars to look forward to this year is legendary actress Vivica A. Fox.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Fox will join the cast as the eldest sister of lead character Cookie Lyon. Fox’s character reportedly comes to town in episode 8 in search of Cookie, but her reasons for seeking out her younger sister are unknown.
But considering what executive producer Ilene Chaiken had to say about the character, we doubt that Cookie’s big sister is coming with any good news.
“Cookie’s other family members are troublesome to say the least,” Chaiken said.
Lee Daniels previously claimed that he’s interested in creating a spin-off series that would focus on Cookie’s family when she was younger and the introduction of Cookie’s eldest sister, alongside middle sister Carol (Tasha Smith), could be Daniels’ way of seeing if fans are interested in whatever storyline the potential spin-off could offer.
