Carmelo Anthony and New York Knicks’ fans can now breathe a little easier.
Last week, a Twitter account supposedly ran by (ex-) porn star Jazmine Cashmere sent out a series of tweets designed to blackmail the basketball star into handing over money to prevent an alleged sex tape from leaking to the public. The Twitter sphere was sent into a tizzy when a phone number said to be Melo’s was tweeted out, as well.
As much as we all love a good scandal, the entire ordeal looks to be untrue.
Days after the situation started to make headlines, Cashmere, who now goes by her birth name of Nicole B. Jones, released a video saying that the Twitter account in question is a fake one and that she’s never had any contact with Anthony whatsoever.
“I’ve never met Carmelo Anthony. I’ve never done business with him. I don’t even believe that we’ve been in the same building with one another,” Jones says. “So there’s a fake page, this page has been around for quite some time now …”
Jones goes on to relate that she left the adult film business and that lifestyle years ago and now does work for a religious organization.
The fake account has since been removed.
