NBA star James Harden caught a tough break this past week when his new girlfriend, Khloe Kardashian, reportedly dumped him to return to her ailing husband, Lamar Odom. And while neither side has spoken about the split, a new report claims that the breakup happened by phone.
As previously reported, Odom fell into a coma last week after a reported drug overdose at a Nevada brothel. Since being rushed to the hospital, Kardashian has remained by Odom’s side and has allegedly vowed to stay with him during the next several months of recovery.
It was also revealed this week that Kardashian and Odom decided to call off their divorce, which they filed documents to finalize earlier this year. Not surprisingly, it was also reported that Kardashian had decided to call off her romance with Harden. And according to HollywoodLife.com, Kardashian allegedly broke up with Harden via text message.
“James has yet to speak to Khloe by phone after he heard, on the news no less, that she had called off her divorce with Lamar,” a source claimed. “The only thing he’s gotten from Khloe in the last 24-hours was a text that said ‘I’m sorry.’ That’s it. He didn’t even respond.”
Although Harden got dumped, the sources say that the NBA star isn’t heartbroken over the split.
“He is OK with it because he is focused specifically on an NBA championship, [being] MVP of the league, and how to spend his $200 million from adidas. His life is all right,” the source said. “He is not going to let heartbreak ruin all the good he has in his life. He lives by the code — everything happens for a reason. So don’t feel bad for him.”
Harden hasn’t spoken about the split, but he has continued to regularly post on Instagram, and from his posts he does seem to be fine. And we’ve no doubt he’ll have a new romance in no time.
