The violence in Chicago seems to have no end. Tyshawn Lee was shot and killed in the Chicago neighborhood of Auburn Gresham. The nine-year-old was shot multiple times in the head and in the back. Reports have surfaced that there was an altercation in the alley and gunshots soon followed. Police are now canvassing the area looking for the shooter.
According to heyjackass.com, in the month of October in the city of Chicago, 29 people were shot and killed and 202 were shot and wounded. With this consistent surge of violence, it is imperative that some real action is taken by the community.
The seemingly unending cycle of poverty and despair surely add to this issue plaguing most urban cities across the nation. Gang violence and loss of hope also add to the equation. We could list many reasons for the issue but we still have to answer these questions: What can we do? What will we do?
