Model and actress Karrueche Tran opens up about her love life – or lack thereof – since parting ways with Chris Brown earlier this year. After standing by Brown for years as he had repeated encounters with the law, did a few rehab stints and even went to jail, the 27-year-old finally called it quits after it was revealed he’d fathered a daughter, Royalty, 18 months, with video model Nia Guzman. Now, nearly nine months after the breakup, Kae admits she’s still not mentally ready to start dating again.
“I haven’t really explored dating yet and I’m not sure if I’m mentally there just because of all the stuff that I’ve been through. It’s a lot to open up to somebody,” she revealed in the new issue of Kontrol magazine, which noted that Tran looked downcast when prodded about her dating life.
She added, “I think people are intimated by the drama [from my past relationship] and not wanting to deal with it because it’s an ongoing story. I’m very guarded and very too myself.” Who can blame her for feeling that way? Her relationship with Chris was nothing but one drama after the next. But it was finding out that he’d fathered a child with another woman that made her finally pull the plug on Chris, once and for all.
As previously reported, Kae first let the world know in March that she was finally done with Brown via social media. “One can only take so much,” she tweeted just days after baby Brown headlines broke the internet. Months later, a devastated Brown continued to pursue Tran but to no avail. He and his entourage even tried to check Karrueche for allegedly dating other men, including singer Marques Houston, 34, after he left an innocent comment on a social media picture where Tran flashed her booty in a thong bikini. Needless to say, it appears Brown has finally moved on. Unfortunately for Tran, it appears she still has a long way to go.
