Former New York Knick draft pick Michael Wright was found dead. According to New York Daily News, Wright’s body was discovered in the back of his Lexus SUV in Brooklyn New York on Nov. 9.

His body was covered with garbage bags and he died from a fractured skull. His car had been parked at the same location for three days. Police believe Wright was possibly murdered by a gay man he met on Grindr. The dating app allows gay men to search for dates by location.

Wright, 35, was drafted by the New York Knicks in 2001 after a storied high school and college career. He played alongside NBA star Kevin Garnet in high school and was a member of the University of Arizona’s prolific basketball team during the late ‘90s and early 2000s.

Wright only played a preseason basketball with the Knicks and never made the official roster. He played for several teams overseas.

Wright is the latest former NBA player to make headlines due to a tragic situation. Lamar Odom nearly died a few months back when he arranged a weekend with strippers and cocaine at a Las Vegas brothel.

Wright had recently signed to play pro ball in France.
